| Medicaid Nurse Aiding
The 75-hour Medicaid Nurse Aide Training Program was instituted to prepare the nurse aide to provide quality care in long-term care facilities. A nurse aide is defined as any individual including nursing students and medication aides providing nursing and related services to facility residents who is not a licensed health professional. The Nursing Home Reform Act established the requirements for nurse aides employed in nursing homes to be trained, evaluated and after successful completion to be registered. Registry is maintained by the Division of Licensing and Regulation in Frankfort. This is a requirement in all long term care facilities in the U.S. Should the registered nurse aid move to another state, that state will grant reciprocity – another class and test is not required. Length of Program Class is 59 hours. |
