| Doctoral Program in Experimental Psychology
The research-oriented Ph.D. program in Experimental Psychology provides extensive training in the core processes of psychology, research methodology, and data analytic techniques coupled with in-depth training in one of two specialty areas. Graduate education centers on a close working relationship among graduate students and faculty with a 2:1 ratio of graduate students to faculty. This individualized training allows students to tailor their program of studies toward a variety of basic and applied research careers. Recent graduates are pursuing their careers in academic and non-academic fields in numerous settings, including universities and colleges, industry, government and private consulting organizations. Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology The mission of the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at the University of Louisville is to produce clinical psychologists who exemplify the scientist-practitioner model in the following ways: (1) they are competent to conduct and to evaluate psychological research in domains that contribute to the enhancement of the practice of psychology; (2) they are current in their knowledge of both the theoretical underpinnings of clinical research and practice and in the empirically-supported applications of these theories; (3) they are competent in implementing research-supported clinical practice; and (4) they are ethical and professional in their relationships with clients, students, and colleagues. |
