The Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Health Promotion is designed to prepare entry-level health educators who would work with individuals, groups and organizations in a variety of settings: school, community, health or medical care, or worksite. Students will learn to design, implement, and evaluate programs in corporate and community wellness, school health education, and public health education.

A student who completes the required program will be eligible for national certification as a Certified Health Education Specialist. Potential employment options available to these specialists include: school health education, public health education, hospital wellness and prevention programs, voluntary health agencies (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, etc.), official health agencies (Jefferson County Health Department, etc.), and corporate wellness.
