| The St. Catharine College Associate
Degree Nursing (ADN) Program
is designed to give students the opportunity to earn an Associate of
Science Degree in Nursing. Upon completion of the program, the student
will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN)
to receive their RN license.
Nursing is a unique profession that combines scientific knowledge, compassion, technical skill, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of others. There are many roles in nursing, including:
Nurses are involved with patients in a variety of settings. A nurse might work in a hospital, a physician's office, a clinic or school, the military, a big corporation, or provide care to patients in their homes. Nursing isn't only focused on taking care of the sick, but also in promoting health and preventing illnesses before they occur. Nursing requires life-long learning and accountability to ethical, legal, and safe practice. The St. Catharine Nursing Program is a very competitive and demanding program that admits students in the fall of every year based on completion of eligibility requirements. Courses include both classroom and clinical components. Clinical sites include a variety of hospitals and agencies in several different counties. The program's desire is to graduate competent, qualified, caring, and compassionate professional nurses. The faculty at SCC are available and willing to assist you as needed throughout your Nursing education. |
