Surgical Technology (Technologist)

Objective: The Surgical Technology program prepares students for employment in a variety of positions in today's surgical technology profession. Students gain knowledge and experience with septic technique, and preparation and use of instruments and supplies to be used in surgery during surgical procedures. The surgical technologist performs scrub and/or circulating duties including passing instruments and supplies to the surgical team members. Preparing and positioning the patient, operating equipment, and assisting the anesthesiologist, and keeping accurate records. The program is designed for the students to obtain entry-level positions in surgical technology.
