Practical Nursing Diploma 

A student of this comprehensive and interesting program will learn the aspects of professional nursing. In addition, you will gain on-the-job experience in the clinical phases of nursing. This is done in a variety of hospitals and health care facilities under the supervision of qualified nursing faculty. This program is offered in both the day and evening divisions.  Graduates of Spencerian's Practical Nursing program have had an outstanding employment success rate. To work as a practical nurse, a license is required. Historically, Spencerian's Practical Nursing graduates have attained an impressive pass rate on the State Board of Nursing's licensing examination. 

As a graduate of the Practical Nursing Program you will be able to: 

bullet Utilize basic knowledge of the nursing process, perform basic therapeutic and preventive measures, incorporating physiological and psychosocial principles
bulletDemonstrate respect for the uniqueness and dignity of individuals
bulletApply basic communication techniques to establish effective interpersonal and therapeutic relationships
bulletRecognize the licensed practical nurse's scope of practice within the profession of nursing and the health care delivery system
bulletPrepare to pass the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX) administered by a State Board of Nursing 
bullet Seek learning opportunities and assume responsibility for continuing education and professional growth
