Program Description The Medical Assisting program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to assist in the treatment of the patient. Students will be prepared as a multi-skilled professional who can perform clinical, laboratory, and administrative functions. Areas such as anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, medical law, administrative responsibilities, and clinical procedures will be studied. Successful completion of required courses and laboratory/clinical assignments will prepare graduates to take the certification examination of the American Medical Technologists and, upon passing, becomes a Registered Medical Assistant.
