The Pre-Medicine program of the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences is one of several Pre-Professional areas available to students. The Departmental organization is to provide maximum flexibility with contemporary course work and scientific background to allow the student to be competitive in the quest of being admitted the professional school and program desired. Since admission requirements vary among medical schools it is essential that the pre-medical student work closely with the assigned faculty advisor. All medical schools recognize the importance of applicants having strong foundations in biology, chemistry, physics and math. Pre-med students generally follow the curriculum designed for the BS Degree in Biology and a minor of their choice.
