Application Procedures
 | An applicant must first apply to the college
and be accepted for admission. |
 | Complete and submit the following documents to
the college Admissions Office by March 1 for the Summer Session |
 | Official high school transcript or passing GED
official score report |
 | Results from NLN Pre-Admission RN Exam |
 | Official transcripts from ALL colleges,
universities, and/or vocational schools attended |
 | LPN school transcripts (if applicable) |
 | Letter of recommendation from a faculty member
of other nursing program (if transferring from another nursing
program. |
 | Attend one scheduled pre-admission
conference. This is mandatory. (A pre-admission form, which
indicates intent to enroll in the nursing program, will be completed
at the conference.) |
 | Must be enrolled in or have completed
pre-requisite courses (mathematics, general psychology, and BSL 110)
at time of application to nursing. |
Evaluation Procedure
Each applicant will be evaluated in two of three areas on an objective
scale.
Area I: No College Experience
 | High school rank plus A/B grades in math or
science courses up to maximum of 8 points or GED score |

Area II: Previous College Experience

Admission Procedure
 | The Admissions Committee meets to evaluation
applications from all areas in order to fill the freshman nursing
class. |
 | The Admissions Committee selected admissions
on the basis of objective criteria within each area. The committee
determines the appropriate number of students to be selected from
each area and makes a recommendation to the President. |
 | The admissions Committee will send letters
to all individuals who have completed applications, notifying them
of selections. |
 | An alternate list in priority order is also
selected based on objective data. Applicants on this list may be
admitted to fill positions left open by students who decide not to
accept admission to the program. |
Enrollment in nursing classes is contingent
upon successful completion of pre-requisites for Nursing I and good
academic standing at Maysville CC.
Any course in the curriculum may be taken prior
to enrollment in the program with the exception of the Nursing courses.
The AND Program is designed to be completed in four
semesters and a Summer Session; however, most students will find it
desirable and/or necessary to take five or six semesters
for completion of program requirements.
