Paramedical Technology

The Emergency Medical Technicians – Paramedic (EMT-P) is an advanced skillful and knowledgeable pre-hospital emergency health care practitioner who has completed a Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure approved competency-based educational program consisting of academic and medical didactic instruction, lab simulations, a clinical practicum, and field internship. Paramedic Technology facilitates the successful completion of the prescribed course of study which qualifies the graduate for State Board Exam eligibility. The EMT-P is prepared to assume duties as a member of the professional health care team, under physician medical direction, at an advanced licensed ambulance service.

Must be a Kentucky certified EMT-B for admission into the program.

Length: 12 months for a full time student.

Prerequisites: math, sciences, anatomy & physiology.
