Emergency Medical Technician Program

The Emergency Medical Technician is a intricate part of the emergency health care system. They generally work as a member of a two man team, receiving calls form a dispatcher and responding to determine the nature and extent of illness or injury. The EMT establishes priority for emergency care and renders the appropriate care then transports patients to the ambulance and no to a medical facility.

Purpose

bulletTo teach the overall role and responsibilities of the Emergency Medical Technician in performing both the emergency care and operational aspects of his/her job.
bulletTo develop skill in diagnosis and all emergency treatment procedures short of those rendered by physicians or by paramedical personnel under the direct supervision of a physician.
bulletTo develop skill in the use of and care for all equipment required to accomplish the job.
bulletTo qualify participants for E.M.T. certification testing.
