The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and has been granted preliminary approval by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

BSN Program Purpose

The purpose of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is to provide basic professional education. Graduates are prepared to function independently or in collaboration with other health care providers to serve individuals and families in hospitals and community settings. The program is designed to encourage students; active participation in achieving program outcomes. Upon completion of the program, the graduates will have a recognition of and desire for continuing professional development and a sound foundation for pursuing graduate education in nursing.

BSN 4-Year Track

Admission to Bellarmine College does not automatically admit a student to the BSN program. Students must make a formal application and be accepted into the nursing major by the BSN Admission, Progression, and Graduation Committee. Admission to the nursing major grants the student the right to take nursing courses in the professional sequence.

BSN Accelerated Track

This is an accelerated program for individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline and wish to pursue a career in professional nursing. The curriculum is designed to be completed in one calendar year. Upon successful completion of the program, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is conferred.

BSN RN Track

This track is for registered nurses who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing. The curriculum is designed to be completed on a part-time basis. RN’s who wish to be full-time students may meet with their faculty advisor to plan their course of study.
